◎简 介
慈禧（丛珊 饰）以八旗秀女的身份选秀入宫，成为了咸丰皇帝（翁家明 饰）的妃子。尽管过着衣食无忧富丽堂皇的日子，但慈禧却并不得咸丰帝的喜爱，终日独守空房，生活在孤独和寂寞之中。咸丰帝驾崩后，慈禧的儿子登基成为顺治帝，而慈禧和名为荣禄（倪齐民 饰）的男子产生了一段隐秘的感情。
随着时间的推移，独断专行的慈禧和不愿顺从母亲的顺治帝之间的分歧越来越大，最终导致了顺治帝的死亡。之后继位的是年幼的光绪帝，他实则皇帝，却全然的遭受着慈禧的幕后操纵。光绪帝喜爱温婉贤淑的珍妃，这段感情却遭到了慈禧的阻挠，在她的设计之下，珍妃“失足”落入井中。
