本剧集是描述三十年代，一代影星阮玲玉传奇的一生。一九三五年三月八日，著名电影演员阮玲玉服毒自杀了！消息传开后，三天之内，有十万人先后前往万国殡仪包瞻仰她的遗容。举殡之日，有三十万人为之送丧……可以说是轰动一时。年青的观众对阮玲玉的名字可能感到陌生，但是上了年纪的观众一定还记忆犹新，阮从影十年，一共拍摄了二十七部影片，她在影片中扮演的尽是悲剧角色。她的爱情，她的婚姻，她的自杀，也是一出感人的悲剧，到底阮玲玉是由出身至踏上毁灭自我这杀路，经过多少个风浪呢？
